1972 Porsche 911 T
Incredibly fun 1972 911T project in Tangerine over Black leatherette interior. This 911T had been sitting in a field for several years before some of our local enthusiast friends brought the car to our attention. From the first time we saw the 911 we knew we had to have it here in our showroom. The car was pulled out of a field not far away from Porsche Colorado Springs and our Porsche Classic Specialists began thinking of a plan, what would they do if this was their car?
A unanimous decision was made to get the car running and make sure it will stop. At some point during the cars life the engine was replaced with a 2.2L engine from a 1971 911T and both door handles had been removed from the car. Our Factory Certified Porsche Body Shop installed new door handles with lock assemblies and a new ignition switch. Here at our Certified Porsche Classic Service Center our Factory Trained Porsche Classic Technicians installed new fuel system components including a new fuel tank, fuel lines, new fuel pump, fuel filter, and rebuilt the carburetors at the same time. We also rebuilt all 4 brake calipers, replaced flexible brake lines, performed a brake fluid flush, and installed new brake pads.
The 1972 model year is the only year Porsche installed an external oil fill on the passenger rear quarter panel. In 1973 the oil fill had to be relocated back into the engine compartment due to safety standard changes at the time. This 911T's unique characteristics and patina are what make the car so fun and enjoyable to have. We're excited to follow this special 911T with its next owner writing another chapter in this Porsche Classic story.
